CNW July meeting on 07/17!

This is Your Life, Milt Priggee!

As the summer finally heats up (let's hope the A/C works at our new meeting space!), we'll get a dose of cool, as local editorial cartoonist Milt Priggee arrives to discuss "the highlights and lowlights" of his career in cartooning for our July CNW meeting.

Priggee came to our state via Alaska and the Chicago area, and these days he is based in Oak Harbor, WA. From his secret lair there, he self-syndicates his work, supplying 'toons for markets local and national. His award-winning work has appeared in such varied media as Newsweek, Time, The New York Times, and CNN's Headline News.

With such a long and full career, Priggee should have a lot of good advice and insights for our group, and I expect he'll be more than a touch entertaining as well. If you'd like to know and see more about him, visit his website at www.miltpriggee.com.

(Also, please let's send positive energy/prayers out into the universe to the Cartoon Gods that Milt stays healthy for the near and far term ... our last two speakers have taken ill around meeting time, and I'd hate to think there will be whispers down the road of a "CNW Curse" ... though, that'd be a good idea for a book or movie ... hmm.)

Whatever happens, I'd be very surprised if there weren't some new and old business to attend to. Or if we didn't have our "Best of the Northwest" cartoon competition, Home Make-over Edition! And chatter and possibly a night out after the meeting. You know, you know ... all the fun we get to have come meeting time. Let's greet the heat right! And now the specifics ...
